You are “free” to be of service

While you are free to make decisions about what you would like to do with your life all people are serving something or someone. There is free will of course but you are also free to be of service also. This is not necessarily a bad thing it is what makes things work as they do. If you choose to be married you will in some way be of service to your spouse, likewise is true if you choose to have children. People think that your station or lot in life predisposes you to more service, this is simply not true. Whether you run a country, a large business, or whether you are a supreme court judge, or work in a factory, there are still always those you serve.

You are also free to be of service to animals and non living things

People are not the only ones who need to be serviced. If you choose to have other living things in your reality such as pets, plants, etc. then you also choose to service them. Non living things also require service; a house, the items in it, your clothing, your food items, they all require your service. Your car may require more service than you wish to give it at times.

Those who service less

Those who escape service are generally speaking those who don’t desire to follow convention. They often live alone on their own terms and keep items at minimum. An example of this would be a person who chooses to live in the street. Wonderers or movers, the people that backpack and travel the globe. They forfeit somethings for a life more of experiences than items. This isn’t to say they don’t have items but generally speaking their items are minimal and don’t have a high service price tag.

There is no complete escape from service

Some look forward to their retirement thinking the service price tag will drop, and it does. Only however, to the point that they are willing to forfeit items. A house will still need to be cleaned, the lawn still landscaped, the car still washed and serviced, etc. Downsizing has a great deal to do with this.

How to maintain balance

Now I’m not suggesting for a minute that you go to extremes and rid yourself of all the people you love, and the items that you own. Nor am I suggesting that you get so much money and power that you are of service to even more people or items. What I am suggesting is that you get just the right amount of people, living things, and items, that allow you to feel personal freedom most of the time. This frees up more of your time for experiences you might not otherwise have time for.

We are free to be of service together

Even if you were alone in the desert with a backpack and a camel you would still be of service to the camel and the camel of service to you. We are all in this together.

Spread the love
